Psychologist in Budapest, Tamás Berky

Psychologist in Budapest Welcome to my website. In my work as a psychologist, whether in person or online, I focus mainly on clients who are suffering from stress, quarterlife or midlife crisis, family-related, professional or relationship conflicts.

In addition, I also help those who are facing important decision situations and need an objective perspective to see it through or those who feel stuck in their development. I am also often approached by clients who are facing difficult life situations or who simply want to gain a deeper understanding of their own feelings and thoughts for self-awareness. In addition, I also welcome those who wish to develop a more beneficial balance between the different roles, tasks and areas of their lives.

In working together, my aim is to help you find the inner resources that will help you to solve inter- and intra-personal problems more effectively and to live a more fulfilling life. Every client is unique and every life situation is different, so I work with a personalised approach that takes into account the specific situation and individual needs.

What happens during the sessions?

At the beginning of the consultation, we have an orientation, problem-solving conversation. This is an important part of the first meeting and gives me the opportunity to get to know the client’s current situation, challenges and goals. Together, we identify the problems and factors that cause difficulties in daily life, and then agree on the exact purpose and time-frame of the meetings, and what each of us will do on subsequent occasions.

The consultations will also focus on constructive ways of resolving internal conflicts that make it difficult to deal with current problems. These internal conflicts often manifest themselves in emotional or thought patterns that hinder problem solving or personal development. In our work together, I help my clients to recognise these patterns and deal with them in a constructive way.

Improving quality of life and enhancing self-awareness is a priority in the consultation process. To this end, psychological counselling focuses not only on addressing current life difficulties, but also on enabling the client to understand and manage their own feelings, relationships and challenges more effectively in the long term, with new skills acquired in the process of solving the present problems.
